Trekking out from a base camp in the Montagne Noire
For this trek, we’ll set off in the horsebox from the “étrier du Lauragais ” riding school and head for Les Escudies, a small hamlet in The Montagne Noire near Arfons where there’s a campsite.
The Montagne Noire is the land of hikers, with a multitude of shady trails, freshwater springs, streams, lakes and water-channel…an ideal place for the hot summer days. The number of pathways starting at Escudies will allow you plenty of variations for rides.
We’ll get back to Castelnaudary in the horsebox on the Saturday after a last morning hack followed by a meal together.
